Welcome to Monroe United Methodist Church!
WE HAVE A PASTORAL APPOINTMENT!
After careful and prayerful consultation, Bishop Hagiya has appointed the Rev. Lindsey Green Eklund as our new Pastor, effective September 1, 2013. Rev. Eklund comes to us from Woodinville UMC where she has served as the Associate Pastor since July 1, 2008, with a specialty in children and family ministries. Originally from the North Carolina Conference where she served two previous appointments, Lindsey moved to the Pacific NW after becoming engaged to future husband Scott Eklund. Lindsey and Scott are foster parents of a young boy (14 months) and are very excited to become a part of the Monroe family. Pastor Lindsey will be available starting September 3rd and will conduct her first service on September 8th. A special coffee hour will follow the service so plan to come and get acquainted.
Monroe United Methodist is an open and affirming church. All are invited and all will be welcome. We are a community of Christian disciples of Christ, working every day to live into the life that God has given us. You are invited to visit and participate in our community of believers. We will honor and support you in your desire to live your own faith journey, to discover you own Christian identity, and to express your faith in your way. We ask only that you give us the same courtesy and support. Bring your coffee: wear your jeans as we worship in an innovative blend of traditional worship expressions reinterpreted for a new generation.
We are dedicated to developing mature and fully devoted followers of Christ. We are working at making disciples for Christ – ourselves included – who will know, love, and serve God by doing all the good we can, in all the places we can, with all the people we can. We would love to share with you what this means as we travel the Christian road together. Come visit us this Sunday! We meet at 9:30am.
